Spectrographic's seminar a success!

Spectrographic held a seminar on the 23rd October at Mitutoyo's Halifax showroom. The seminar was to demonstrate a full range of range of hardness tester systems,  the main focus being the new HM 200 automatic hardness tester, available from Mitutoyo.

There was a variety of things to see at the seminar, the main focus being the new automatic hardness tester, however the seminar also included a presentation from the guest speaker Dr. Phil Harrison. There was also an opportunity for the guests to have a look around the fantastic Mitutoyo showroom at Hallifax.

We would like to thank all the guests for taking the time to come to the seminar, we would also like to thank Dr. Phil Harrison for giving the presentation at the seminar. We would also like to thank Wendy for help out on the day and preparing all the food.

Discotom 2

Struers Discotom 2 abrasive cutting machine is an important tool for the professional metallographer.  The first Discotom was introduced in 1965 and offers a robust design with enclosed cutting area and twin vices.  Progressive design improvements have produced a micro sectioning machine of  very good design for the cutting of smaller components ready for mounting and polishing  for optical microscope analysis. A recent project carried out for a customer involved the supply of Leica microscope and a Discotom cutting machine.  The Leica DM4000M and S6D stereo microscope were both in very good condition and offered with microscope cameras. The Discotom needed extensive work to be carried out to meet the requirements for the customer and Spectrographic’s reputation for high quality used metallurgical equipment. Buehler Metaserv 3000

The Spectrographic engineers have been working hard to refurbish the Buehler Metaserv 3000. This twin 200mm polisher/grinder will be available very soon.  The machine is capable of Polishing/Grinding 4 samples at anyone time.
