The customer liked the solid build of the machine and very robust design, this machine was being promoted in the Spectrographi...

Discotom 2

Image
Struers Discotom 2 abrasive cutting machine is an important tool for the professional metallographer.  The first Discotom was introduced in 1965 and offers a robust design with enclosed cutting area and twin vices.  Progressive design improvements have produced a micro sectioning machine of  very good design for the cutting of smaller components ready for mounting and polishing  for optical microscope analysis. A recent project carried out for a customer involved the supply of Leica microscope and a Discotom cutting machine.  The Leica DM4000M and S6D stereo microscope were both in very good condition and offered with microscope cameras. The Discotom needed extensive work to be carried out to meet the requirements for the customer and Spectrographic’s reputation for high quality used metallurgical equipment. See the pictures, which shows the extent of the work undertaken to make the Discotom as good as new ready for delivery to our customer in Sweden...

Indentec Rockwell Hardness Tester.

Image
Spectrographic have available an  Indentec Rockwell hardness tester . The system is offered with a warranty and expert support by the staff at Spectrographic. The Rockwell hardness test is ideally suited for material verification and component inspection to ensure correct material type and heat treatment condition. The digital hardness tester is controlled by a touch pad user interface to allow setting of parameters and display of results. This makes the tester very easy to use. The Indenter is housed on the long nose which is easily interchanged. The long nose offers access to the difficult ring samples and to the testing of samples which cannot be accommodated by using a conventional hardness tester. Loading of the samples is automatic and can offer loads of 60, 100 and 150kg selected by a convenient had lever. The Indentec LK Rockwell hardness tester is designed for a wide range of materials to include carbon steel, alloy steel, cast...

NDT Testimonial for Spectrographic.

"I buy both consumables and metallographic equipment from Spectrographic Ltd . and have done so for many years. I find the service they offer both extremely polite and efficient. The wide range of metallographic equipment they sell makes them the idea ‘one stop shop’ for all my metallographic needs. The staff at Spectrographic are extremely knowledgeable about the equipment they supply and its suitability to my needs, they have even given advise on the correct techniques that I should employ to get the required sample preparation needed, even with exotic materials. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Spectrographic Ltd. for any metallurgical machinery or consumables. I will continue to consider them as the only metallographic supplier I need."                                       - Ian
