Hardness Tester Test Block Calibration

At Spectrographic as a metallurgical suppliers we offer re-calibration of Hardness Tester test blocks.  There are different types of hardness test reference blocks which relate to the testing for hardness.  These are Rockwell, Vickers, Micro Vickers, Knoop, Brinell and Leeb Test Blocks. The BS EN ISO 6507-3:2005 relates to metallic materials, Vickers hardness test and calibration of reference test blocks.  The extracted information of this standard Calibration of reference blocks appears in section 9 - Validity, it states: " The reference block is only valid for the scale for which it was calibrated. The calibration validity should be limited to a duration of 5 years.  Attention is drawn to the fact that, for Al- and Cu-alloys, the calibration validity could be reduced to 2-3 years". The question here is are all the test blocks valid that are currently been used for hardness testing within your metallurgy department.  This should become apparent...

Sonodur-2 UCI Portable Hardness Tester Videos

Image
After the successful visit of Dr Manfred Tietze of New Sonic, demonstrating the Sonodur-2 UCI portable hardness tester, last month.   Dr Tietze has sent video's for us to show anyone interest in getting their hands on the latest portable hardness testing technology. These are available on our website , but you can see them here too. The SonoDur is a portable hardness tester that offers fast and accurate measurement readings on site and for control of production heat treatment.  The UCI hardness tester system is recommended when laboratory hardness testers cannot be used. Spectrographic are please to be in partnership with NewSonic to promote the Sonodur-2 UCI Portable Hardness Tester. If you are interested in the Sonodur-2 UCI portable hardness tester then please contact the office: Email: sales@spectrographic.co.uk Telephone: 01274 966173 Website: www.spectrographic.co.uk

Bidding "Fishwell" to Dr Manfred Tietze of New Sonic

Image
Spectrographic has enjoyed the company of Dr Manfred Tietze from Newsonic.  On their final night Paul and Manfred went out for fish and chips at the Chevin at Menston, West Yorkshire, with its amazing back drops and scenery. Using the portable fork "hardness tester" to check the chips.  Chips met the spec and the fish was great too.  The laughter has certainly been flying this week, with this business partnership. "Just for the record, we test metals using portable or classical hardness testers." says Spectrographic's Managing Director, Paul Chippendale. Thanks for your help Manfred from Newsonic . Require any information on the Sonodur 2 UCI portable hardness tester, then please contact Spectrographic. sales @spectrographic.co.uk Telephone: 01274 966173 www.spectrographic.co.uk

Demonstration Day at The AMRC

Image
Another successful demonstration day at The AMRC training centre in Sheffield, yesterday. Paul Chippendale, Managing Director, and Dr Manfred Tietze headed up the day with delegates from around the UK. It was great to have a guest supplier in from NewSonic who demonstrated the Sonodur 2 UCI portable hardness tester with some great feedback too. Liam, our metallurgical microscope expert showed off the HDS5800 3D Digital microscope to a number of our guests. We also have some metallurgical equipment at the AMRC which was demonstrated on Wednesday 17th February 2016. Due to the success of the day, the next Demonstration Day will be in April 2016. Here are a selection of Photographs from the day. Read more..... Contact us at sales@spectrographic.co.uk Telephone: 01274 966173 Website:- www.spectrographic.co.uk

Portable Hardness Tester Tour

Image
The hardness tester tour was a great opportunity to look at customer applications and show how well the Sonodur 2 portable hardness tester could perform.   Customers were delighted with the performance of the Vickers hardness tester and were very impressed with how easy test results could be achieved and reported.
