Spectrographic's branded OmegaPol Metallurgy Polishers Grinders are available for delivery from mid April. 


Although, if you are in a hurry we have some Twin Polishing Machines available for immediate despatch with 200mm or 250mm platens.

The benefits of the OmegaPol are that it is a manual polishing preparation system for low to medium volumes of sample preparation.  The polisher comprises of a variable speed platen that can operate from 600 rpm to 50 rpm.  The grinder is also controlled by the touch pad, which has a timer function. This machine has a warranty of 12 months from date of delivery and has the full support of the Spectrographic team.


The OmegaPol Polisher/Grinder is available in single and twin plate machines offering sizes from 200mm to 300mm Platens.

Discotom 2

Struers Discotom 2 abrasive cutting machine is an important tool for the professional metallographer.  The first Discotom was introduced in 1965 and offers a robust design with enclosed cutting area and twin vices.  Progressive design improvements have produced a micro sectioning machine of  very good design for the cutting of smaller components ready for mounting and polishing  for optical microscope analysis. A recent project carried out for a customer involved the supply of Leica microscope and a Discotom cutting machine.  The Leica DM4000M and S6D stereo microscope were both in very good condition and offered with microscope cameras. The Discotom needed extensive work to be carried out to meet the requirements for the customer and Spectrographic’s reputation for high quality used metallurgical equipment.
