ScopePad

The Scopepad is a revolutionary microscope imaging system which combines the convenience
of a tablet PC and a digital camera, it can preview, take micrographs, videos and save them,
make accurate measurements, wireless transmission, 3G internet surfing. Abundant images, videos and dates can be stored in the built-in 32G Hard Drive Disk.

ScopePad  offers image capture of microscope istructures by interfacing with a  laboratory microscope or onsite portable microscope.
The in-built 5 Megapixel camera offers high resolution image capture for demanding metallurgical applications:
  • Pearlic lamella structure
  • Ferrite and Austenitic structure
  • Fracture Faces
  • Weld analysis
The Windows 7 tablet computer offers a 10” high resolution touch screen for live image preview.  The preview function is ideal for conference and training allowing discussion of the microscope image.
The camera settings can be adjusted to optimize the microscope image allowing fine adjustment to suit the microscope and sample. This allows for control of contrast and brightness settings to enhance micro structural features; this offers improved image quality and representation of the metallurgical structure.

Microscope images are captured with a click of the “snap button” in jpeg and bitmap formats. The images can be transferred to a network using the WiFi connection or can be saved to a memory stick and uploaded to a main computer for reporting or further analysis.

The pre-installed image capture software offers a host of features allowing measurement and annotation of captured images. This is comparable to a full computer based image capture system with lens calibration and measurement features:
  • Live measurement
  • Angle measurement
  • Area measurement
It has a C-mount connector which can be connected to any microscopes with microscope
adaptors. It is an Ideal instrument of industrial optical inspection, teaching and scientific research.

Installation of the Scopepad is easy, standard fitting is offered with connection to the microscope using a C-mount adapter to mount and focus the integrated 5Mpixel CMOS colour camera.  The ScopePad consists of a camera hardwired to a Window 7 tablet computer, the maximum resolution of the camera is 2592 x 1944, and resolution can be reduced when smaller images are required.

The system can be powered using the rechargeable battery which is very good for more portable applications.  File transfer can be with USB or Wi-Fi and can be stored on the 30GB hard-drive.
Scopepad is a portable, adaptable and high performance image capture system offering a new dimension of microscopy for the modern microscopist or materials engineer.
